Beach Vibe - Hostel Life
Whether you have been out surfing, exploring Las Peñitas or just making the most of the beach, we have the perfect environment for you to relax in.
We have a number of hammocks waiting for you, a guitar for you to play, a number of board games including chess and backgammon, playing cards and a book swap.
We also have football (or soccer for the North Americans out there) and volleyballs for our regular tournaments. And of course we know that even when traveling, keeping in-touch with friends and family is important so we have WiFi access throughout all communal spaces.
The Bar & Restaurant - Drinks and Great Food
Sinking your feet in the sand whilst gazing out at the Pacific ocean at our beach bar.
We have a wide and varied selection of drinks and meals on offer. Start your day with coffee (free for guests) and typical Nica breakfast or yummy Smoothie Bowl, try our homemade Kombucha combined with a tasty Panini with homemade pesto or our signature Tropical Fish Burger.
Cool down with a cold beer, or treat yourself to one of our delicious cocktails.
Events - Rustic Acoustics
Join us for "Viernes de Sunset", where we host live music nights at our beach bar in addition to an open-mic where we welcome you to share your own musical talents.
Friday nights here are always vibrant, atmospheric and an excellent opportunity to bring guests together.
Other events include beach volleyball and football tournaments, large communal dinners, salsa nights and we are always open to ideas that our guests and volunteers have to throw into the mix.
Yoga Classes
We offer daily sunset yoga classes from our two dedicated yoga teachers - Daphne and Maya. The yoga classes take places on our top deck where you can watch the waves and listen to the sounds of the ocean during your class.
Surf - Classes and Rentals
Whether you have never surfed before or consider yourself at one with the waves, Las Peñitas has something for you.
With a beach break surf spot directly in front of Mano a Mano hostel, it couldn't be easier to get out on the waves every day.
Fancy something different, then there's a point break spot less than a 100 metres along the coast, and for those that wish to venture out, there are a number of other surf spots along the coastline.
We have two in-house experienced local surf instructors who will tailor lessons to your needs, as well as board we rent out to guests. See you on the waves!

Tours And Excursions
We are lucky enough to have the beautiful and biologically diverse Juan Venado Island Nature Reserve on our doorstep here at Las Peñitas.
Explore the mangroves by kayak or on a private boat trip where you will be to observe a wide selection of nature, birds, alligators and between September and December turtles during their hatching season.
Join some of our local fishermen and get your own "catch of the day"​.

We can also organise and recommend local tours for hiking up or camping at a volcano and doing the adrenaline ​filled volcano boarding.
